Left shoulder pain is a possible sign of a heart attack, according to NUY Langone Medical Center. Sometimes the pain is isolated there, and other times it begins in the chest and spreads to the shoulder, explains WebMD. In certain cases, pain shows up between the shoulders.
In both women and men, chest pain and discomfort is the most typically sign of a heart attack, states the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. However, women are also likely to experience shoulder pain as a symptom, as well as fatigue, breathlessness, nausea, vomiting, and back and jaw pain. Sensations of pressure and squeezing in the chest are common for men, Healthline reveals.
