Air pollution in the Philippines is at an EPI score of 65.7, as of 2010. They are ranked 8th, tied with Australia, in ambient air quality.
The primary source of air pollution in the Philippines is emissions. These emissions come from vehicles, stationary things like factories and power plants and from activities like road dust, garbage burning and open cooking. In rural areas, the primary source of pollution is burning agricultural waste. The Philippines created the Clean Air Act to curb some of the pollution. This act requires all vehicles to pass an emissions test before the driver can renew the registration.
