What is the life cycle of a spider monkey?

The milestones in the life cycle of a spider monkey are birth, juvenile, young adult, adult and death. Babyhood lasts two years before a spider monkey becomes a juvenile. The length of their lives depends largely on the habitat.

Of several species, the spider monkey normally inhabits tropical rain forest regions. They live in trees most of the day and enjoy the graceful swings from branch to branch. Interestingly, although they strongly grip tree branches, spider monkeys do not have thumbs. In the wild, the monkey spends an average of 22 years, if all environmental or habitat factors are favorable.
