What is the lifespan of a Corgi?

The Pembroke Welsh corgi has an average life expectancy between 11 and 13 years. However, corgis are also prone to certain serious health concerns, such as intervertebral disc disease and canine hip dysplasia, that may affect their quality of life and their lifespan.

Originally bred for herding cattle, sheep and ponies, the Pembroke Welsh corgi is now more often kept as a house pet. This type of dog is fun and friendly and generally has a good disposition towards children. They are also quick-witted and crave forms of exercise that may mimic the herding for which the breed was initially developed.
