1. Condition
Since the bleaching process is so harsh, begin by using a rich, leave-in conditioning mask. It helps to protect the hair through the rest of the process.
2. Bleach
Start this step by applying the bleaching solution from the tips of the hair up to about mid-length and let process for 20 to 25 minutes. Once the desired shade is reached, rinse it out and apply the solution from mid-length to about 4 inches from the scalp and leave on for about 45 minutes. Rinse that out and apply bleach to the roots. It will not take much time for that area to lighten, so be sure to watch it carefully.
