Lily of the valley trees are also referred to as sour wood or sorrel trees. The trees bloom throughout the summer and produce green pods. Lily of the valley trees can reach up to 15 feet in height, producing leaves that can reach 8 inches in length.
During the midsummer months, the green pods of lily of the valley trees transform into white fragrant flowers that remain in bloom for three weeks or longer. As fall approaches, the flowers begin to produce berries. Following the year's first frost, the leaves of lily of the valley change from green to red in color.
