What is lithium grease used for?

White lithium grease serves as a general-purpose lubricant for household and machinery use. It differs from standard general-purpose grease in that zinc is added to give it a white color, which can be used to help ensure thorough application.

Used for car chassis, farm equipment and industrial machinery, white lithium grease provides a visual cue when the overflow of new grease displaces the old. As the new white grease enters a fitting, bearing or other lubrication point, it forces out the old grease, which appears darker in color. When the overflow becomes white, the user can see that the old grease has been fully replaced with new.
