How do you locate a Carter carburetor ID?
By Forinfos - 06/03/2026 - 0 comments
All Carter carburetors were produced with ID/part numbers either stamped on the parts themselves or stamped on tags that were then attached to the carburetors. The two most common locations to find the stamped part number are on the carburetor flange or on a triangular brass tag.
It is also possible to narrow down the carburetor part number based on the material that the carburetor is made of and the number of barrels it has. Cater carburetors that are identified with tags are often impossible to identify once the tags have been removed from the units. Another way to identify a Carter carburetor is to use a carburetor identification service, such as the one offered by The Carburetor Shop LLC.
