How do you log off from a computer?

To log off from a PC running Windows, find the user profile under the "Start" menu and click "Log Off." To log off from a Mac, click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen and select "Log Out, then confirm "Log Out" again. To save time, hold the "Command" button while logging out to skip the confirmation step.

For computers running systems from Windows 8 onward, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up the lock screen, where the user can click the "Sign Out" button to log off, or switch accounts to change the active user profile.

Mac users can also log out using shortcut keys, by pressing Shift+Command+Q and confirming the action.
