How long do architects go to school for?

A Bachelor of Architecture degree takes five years to complete. There are also different options to pursue a Master in Architecture degree, but those typically take between six or seven years to complete.

Students can apply to these architecture programs straight out of high school. In order to officially become licensed as an architect, a student must complete a program that has been approved by the National Architectural Accreditation Board. Once students have received their Bachelor of Architecture or Master in Architecture, they can also pursue higher degrees of specialization to improve their skills and reputation. Most programs include studies in the history of architecture, environmental systems, design and the math required to build structurally sound buildings.
