Depending on the type of ham and its preparation, the length of time a frozen ham can be kept varies between 1 to 6 months. If it is fresh cured ham that is uncooked, then it can last up to 6 months in the freezer. When it is fresh uncured ham that is cooked, storage time in a freezer can be between 3 to 4 months.
For a ham that is cured and cooked, the storage time in a freezer can be between 1 and 2 months. However, if it is country ham, then it will only last for about a month in the the freezer and for 7 days in the refrigerator.
It is best to discard ham when it begins to get a slimy film and has a sour smell. The meat will also lose its pink color.
