Cooked beef and other meat should be kept in the refrigerator for no more than three to four days, according to the Food Safety division of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Ground meats should only be kept in the refrigerator for one to two days.
Bigger cuts of meat, such as steaks and chops, can be safely kept in a refrigerator up to four days. Cooked meat should be cooled before being put in the refrigerator. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service recommends cutting up large pieces of cooked beef into smaller piece to help it cool down quicker before and during refrigeration.
