According to the U.S. government, the maximum refrigeration time for cooked chicken should not exceed three to four days, assuming a refrigeration temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below. If properly stored, cooked chicken can be frozen for between two and six months.
It is recommended that meat be refrigerated within two hours of being cooked. If the temperature is more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit, meat should be refrigerated within one hour of being cooked. It should never be placed back on the same plate that it was on before it was cooked unless that plate has been thoroughly cleaned.
