How long do we have to respond to a written letter from a borrower?
By Forinfos - 19/04/2025 - 0 comments
Consumer Finance notes that a lender has approximately five business days to acknowledge a borrower's request, beginning on the date that the letter is received. After that, the lender generally has up to 30 business days to respond to the letter.
A letter to a lender should be sent separately from any payments made. The letter, which should include the borrower's question or concern and any information needed to identify the account, should be sent to the address provided for information requests. The response received from the lender should contain the information requested, a resolution of the issue or a notice that an investigation is being instigated to clarify the issue.
