Is Mac keeper a pop-up scam?
By Forinfos - 07/04/2026 - 0 comments
While MacKeeper is not a pop-up scam, as of 2015, it is a program that does not perform the functions that its developers claim that it does. Its aggressive marketing behavior has been blamed on aggressive affiliate marketers rather than as the company's official policy.
Unlike most other official Mac applications, MacKeeper also acts aggressively when users attempt to delete it. This takes the form of an additional verification and explanation system during the uninstalling process. MacKeeper also exhibits malware-like behavior by leaving traces of itself throughout the system library folder of a Mac. Users who have paid money for the application can also request and receive a refund.
