The Madagascar jasmine, or Stephanotis floribunda, is a flowering plant that is also called the Hawaiian wedding flower. It's not related to true jasmine but is a member of the milkweed family.

The flowers of the plant are tubular, pure white and very fragrant. Because it is intolerant of frost, Madagascar jasmine is often grown as a houseplant. When well cared for, it blossoms throughout the spring and summer. The flowers grow on an attractive vine that has glossy green leaves and needs a trellis on which to climb. Madagascar jasmine thrives in moist but not wet soil and benefits from regular misting. During the flowering season, it needs fertilizer about once a month.
