The "Cookie Clicker" game is a JavaScript browser-based game developed by Julien Thiennot. The developer is more commonly known as Orteil. The game released on Aug. 10, 2013.
The premise of "Cookie Clicker" is simply to click on the image of a cookie as often and as fast as possible. As the number of cookies accumulates, the game awards the user with achievements and currency to purchase upgrades. There is no end to the game. "Cookie Clicker" is a pioneer of the idle gaming genre; a subset of casual gaming that requires very little input from the user, according to IGN.
