What are the main parts of a hurricane?

The three main parts of a hurricane include the eye, the eye wall and the rain bands.The eye is the very center or the calm of the storm, the eye wall forms around the center and contains the strongest rain while the rain bands are the exterior clouds that expand to make the storm grow bigger.

A hurricane can also be described as a tropical cyclone. The winds inside the storm are extremely powerful and can reach speeds of 74 miles per hour or more. A storm can only reach hurricane status if it has been strengthening over a period of days or weeks.
