How do you make your own clarifying shampoo?

To make your own clarifying shampoo, add sea salt and coconut oil to your favorite shampoo. This 10-minute procedure requires shampoo, coconut oil, sea salt, a microwave-safe bowl, a fork, a spoon, measuring spoons, a jar, a towel, hand soap, warm water, a waterproof adhesive label and a permanent marker.

1. Melt the coconut oil

   Place 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat it for five seconds. If the oil is already liquefied, do not heat it.

2. Add shampoo and sea salt

   Add 3 tablespoons of sea salt, and mix it into the oil with a fork. Add 2 tablespoons of your favorite shampoo, and mix until all the ingredients are combined.

3. Prepare the jar

   Wash the jar and its lid with warm water and hand soap. Dry them with a towel.

4. Pack the shampoo into the jar

   Spoon the clarifying shampoo into the jar, seal it tightly, and wipe the exterior with a towel. This removes traces of coconut oil.

5. Label the jar

   Wash your hands to remove oily residue, and dry them with a towel. Lay a waterproof adhesive label on a flat surface, and fill it in with a permanent marker. Remove the label's backing and place it on the jar.
