How do you make peanut brittle using a microwave?

To make peanut brittle in the microwave, sugar, corn syrup and salt are combined and microwaved before adding peanuts and butter and microwaving again. Baking soda and vanilla extract are added to the mixture before allowing to cool on a baking sheet.
Microwave Peanut Brittle
This recipe yields around 24 pieces and may be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Ingredients:
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 cups roasted salted peanuts
- 1 tbsp. unsalted butter, chopped
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- Prepare baking sheet
- Microwave corn syrup, sugar and salt
- Microwave with peanuts and butter
- Add to baking sheet to cool
Spray a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray and line with parchment paper, also sprayed.
Combine the sugar, corn syrup and salt in a microwave-safe bowl until the mixture is smooth. Microwave on a high setting for up to 4 minutes, or until bubbling.
Add the peanuts and butter and microwave again until thick and golden in color. This should take no more than 5 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and baking soda to the mixture and stir carefully before pouring onto the baking sheet and spreading with a metal spatula sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Allow to harden for up to 30 minutes and then break into 2-inch pieces.
