What is a male dolphin called?

A male dolphin is known as a "bull," a female dolphin is known as a "cow," and a baby is known as a "calf." Though male and female dolphins do appear strikingly similar, males are noticeably larger.
Grown adult bottlenose males are typically between 96 and 150 inches. Females are only slightly shorter, reaching 89 to 144 inches long. However, though nearly the same length, males weigh around 1,100 pounds, while mature females only weigh half that or slightly more. This makes the males easy to identify by their rounder body. Males are also distinguishable by their reproductive behavior, as they are known to aggressively court females.
