According to Self Nutrition Data, one large carrot that weighs 72 grams has 7 grams of carbohydrates. Within those 7 grams, 2 grams are dietary fiber and 3 grams are sugars. A majority of the 30 calories in a large carrot are derived from its sugars.

Though most of the calories in carrots come from natural sugars, Self Nutrition Data explains that carrots are low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Carrots also provide a substantial amount of essential nutrients, including: dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium.
