Martin Luther King, Jr. had four children with his wife, Coretta Scott. Their oldest, Yolanda Denise King, was born in 1955 and was followed in 1957 by Martin Luther King III. Dexter Scott King and Bernice Albertine King were born in 1961 and 1963, respectively.
King was born in 1929 and became an integral part of the peaceful civil rights movement in the 1950s, a position he held until his assassination in 1968. He was a key figure in the March on Washington and the bus boycotts that served as landmark elements of the movement. In 1964 he received a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts.
