How many faces does a cube have?

A cube has six faces. An example of a cube is a dice where every face is numbered from one to six. A cube has edges of equal length, and all the angles are right angles (90 degrees).

The volume of a cube is calculated by measuring the length and multiplying by itself twice. For example, a cube with a length of 2 would have a volume of 2 x 2 x 2 = 8. The area of a cube with a length of 2 is calculated by finding the area of each face; in this case it is 2 x 2 = 4, which is then multiplied by the number of faces, which is six on a cube. The answer therefore would be 4 x 6 = an area of 24. Shapes that are similar to a cube but with different length faces, such as a shoe box, are called cuboids.
