How many faces, edges and vertices does a cube have?

A cube has six faces, 12 edges and eight vertices. Each face of a cube is an identical square, and every edge has an identical length, which is equal to the length of the sides of the faces.
The cube is one of five Platonic solids, which are defined in Euclidean geometry as regular, convex polyhedrons where every face is an identical, regular polygon. A regular polygon is a two-dimensional shape where all sides have the same length. The other platonic solids are the tetrahedron (four triangular faces), the octahedron (eight triangular faces), the dodecahedron (12 hexagonal faces) and the icosahedron (20 triangular faces).
