In Greek mythology, there are 16 Titans, 14 Olympian gods and a large number of demigods, or half-god and half-human hybrids. The Titans ruled during the Greek Golden Age from Mount Olympus, but were overthrown by the Olympian Gods in the battle of Titanomachy.

The original Titan couple is Gaea, goddess of the Earth, and Uranus, god of Heaven. They created the other Titans, Atlas, Prometheus, Coeus, Phoebe, Hyperion, Theia, Oceanus, Tethys, Crius, Iapetus, Mnemosyne, Themis, and the parents of the Olympian Gods, Cronus and Rhea. The Olympian Gods are Zeus, Poseiden, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Aphrodite, Demeter, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, Athena, Dionysus, Hermes and Hephaestus.
