How many hurricanes made landfall in Florida?

Between the years of 1851 and 2013, 114 hurricanes made landfall in Florida, according to the Hurricane Research Division of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory. Forty percent of all United States hurricanes hit Florida.
Florida has seen 44 Category 1 storms, 33 Category 2 storms and 29 Category 3 storms. The state has been the victim of 6 Category 4 storms and 2 Category 5 storms. Most of the hurricanes that affect the state occur in the northwest region.
The state with the next highest totals is Texas. The Lone Star state has seen 63 hurricanes hit its borders since 1851.
