How many ounces can your bladder hold?

A normal human bladder can hold 1.5 to 2 cups of urine, which is the equivalent of 12 to 16 ounces. The kidneys produce 1 to 2 quarts of urine daily by filtering 120 to 150 quarts of blood.
Urination frequency is dependent upon the speed at which the kidneys produce urine. The bladder empties the urine through the urethra, which is located at the bottom of the bladder. Urine is carried to the bladder from the kidneys by thin muscle fiber tubes called ureters. The bladder is located between the two pelvic bones and is hollow, muscular and shaped like a balloon.
