Only 51 out of the 102 pilgrims survived the first winter in the New World. Among these were four married women, who were in charge of food preparation for the first Thanksgiving.
The pilgrims took 66 days to cross the Atlantic Ocean to land in the New World. They landed in what is now Provincetown, Massachusetts, located on the tip of Cape Cod, on November 11, 1620. There were a total of 102 passengers that set sail to the New World, with a 102 passengers landing in Massachusetts. There was one passenger who died on the voyage, but a baby was born as well.
