How many points is a speeding ticket in Ohio?

Most moving violations add two points to an individual's driving record, according to DMV.org. If the speeding ticket involved racing on public roads, then it adds six points. Ohio drivers may not get more than 12 points in two years on their driving records.
DMV.org explains that drivers who exceed 12 points face fines, driving restrictions for up to six months and license reinstatement requirements. Most drivers who accumulate excessive points must take a remedial driving course before they are allowed to drive again. The Ohio DMV allows drivers to order a record of how many points exist on their driving records.
