How many stamps do I need to send a letter to SC from MI?

As of 2014, one stamp is needed to send a first-class letter from S.C. to Mich., as long as the letter weighs 1 ounce or less. The same applies to letters sent from any state in the United States to any other state, including Alaska and Hawaii.

If the letter weighs more than 1 ounce, but less than 2 ounces, the letter requires two stamps. Letters weighing from 2 ounces to 3.5 ounces also require two stamps, but it is more economical to purchase the exact amount of postage needed from an automatic machine or from a post office teller.
