As of 2014, The Kroger Co. operates 2,619 supermarkets in 34 states and the District of Columbia. However, they aren't all operated under the Kroger name. Depending on the state, Kroger operates under other banners, such as Fred Meyer, Fry's, Smith's, Harris Teeter, QFC and Food 4 Less.

As of 2015, Kroger also operated 782 convenience stores in 19 states. It also operates 1,330 supermarket fuel stations.
