How many toes does the three-toed sloth have?
By Forinfos - 22/06/2025 - 0 comments
A three-toed sloth has three clawed toes on each foot, giving it a total of 12 toes in all. Sloths use their long claws for climbing and as a defense against predators.
All species of sloth are native to Central and South America. They are arboreal animals, meaning that they spend most of their time in trees. Besides its claws, a sloth's other adaptations to tree-dwelling life include fur that grows in the correct direction to shed rain when it is hanging under a branch and a symbiotic relationship with green algae that grows in its fur and provides camouflage.
