How many lines of symmetry does a rectangle have?

Rectangles are geometric shapes with two lines of symmetry. One line of symmetry divides a rectangle in half horizontally, and the other line divides the shape in half vertically. Rectangles also have four right angles and two pairs of lines, with the lines in each pair having equal lengths.
Rectangles are examples of quadrilaterals or geometric figures with four sides. Squares have the greatest number of lines of symmetry among the quadrilaterals and can be divided in half horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Rectangles lack diagonal symmetry, and trapezoids lack both diagonal and horizontal symmetry. Parallelograms other than trapezoids without any right angles do not have any lines of symmetry.
