The mayor of Whoville is Ned McDodd. He is one of the main characters in the 2008 animated film "Horton Hears a Who," based on the story of the same name written by Dr. Seuss. Steve Carell voiced the character in the film.

Additionally, the film features a subplot in which the mayor has 96 daughters and one son. In the original book, the mayor of Whoville does not have name.

In the 2000 motion picture "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," the mayor of Whoville is named Augustus Maywho, and he appears in the film as an adult and a child. The iterations of the character are played by actors Jeffrey Tambor and Ben Bookbinder.
