What does it mean to have a license revoked?

According to the DUI/DWI Foundation, when a driver gets his driver's license revoked, he is no longer legally allowed to drive in that state. A driver's license is revoked if a driver habitually breaks the laws and rules of driving.

The DUI/DWI Foundation states that a driver's license can be revoked for a number of reasons. The most common reasons for losing driving privileges are reckless driving, DUI conviction, failure to pay traffic tickets, refusing a sobriety test or being at fault in an accident that causes another person's injury or death. Driving privileges are not reinstated until the driver has satisfied all conditions set forth by a judge.
