What is the meaning of "emotional memory"?
By Forinfos - 22/04/2026 - 0 comments
An "emotional memory" is a recollection from the past that appeals to, is affected by or governed by emotion. An emotional memory can be one that involves or is triggered by positive or negative emotions.
People tend to recall emotional memories more vividly than memories that are not emotional. It is often easier to recall memories that involved emotion than it is to remember less emotional experiences even if they occurred near the same time. Pleasant emotional memories are often remembered better than those driven by unpleasant emotions. Emotional arousal aids recollection more than the information or the event itself does.
