What is the meaning of the slang word "uber"?
By Forinfos - 26/10/2025 - 0 comments
In English slang, uber means "extreme," "to an excessive degree," or "very." When combined with nouns or adjectives, it denotes that the object is above the norm. Examples include uber babe, uber cool and uber fancy restaurant.
Borrowed from the German word "over," the word uber can be combined with a variety of German words to denote increased quality, quantity, excess or superiority. Uberkommen, for example, means "to overcome," while ubertragen means "to hand over, to transfer." The word has its origins in Greek and Latin.
Uber originally crossed over to English with the works of Nietzche who described an "ubermensche," or "superman", or a higher being with advanced thought.
