How do you measure glove size?

Glove size can be measured in inches at the widest part of the dominant hand using a cloth tape measure. You should also take a measurement from the top of the middle finger down to the wrist. The largest of the two measurements indicates the correct glove size.
- Get a flexible cloth tape measure
You can find a cloth tape measure at most craft stores or fabric stores, or online. The flexible nature of the tape works well for measuring curved body parts.
- Measure the palm of your dominant hand at its widest
Wrap the tape measure around the palm of your hand at its widest point, excluding the thumb. This is usually over the knuckles. Keep the tape measure snug, but not tight. Record the measurement.
- Measure the length of hand
Measure from the tip of the middle finger down to the wrist, along the center of the hand. Record this number, too.
- Compare the two numbers
Compare the two measurements. Use the largest number as your glove size. An XXS is a 6- inch measurement. XS is 6.5 inches, S is 7.5 inches, and M is 8.5 inches, while 9.5 inches is large.
- Compare the number to a size chart
Check the number on a glove size chart as used by your chosen designer, just in case there are variations from the norm.
