The Medicare program does help seniors, as it provides senior citizens with access to health insurance. Medicare can help senior citizens by providing coverage for hospital stays, routine medical services, time spent in skilled nursing facilities for rehab, prescription medication and even hospice care.
In addition, Medicare helps seniors by providing access to the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which is an option that allows seniors to stay in their homes versus moving to a nursing home. Seniors receive in home care similar to the level of care available in a nursing home as long as they can safely remain at home.
