The same number of kilobytes, 1,024 is needed to make 1 megabyte. Both of these measurements, along with gigabytes, are used in a majority of everyday settings. When saving a document on a computer, the file is usually a few kilobytes in file size, while a song that is being saved may be a few megabytes in size.
