Is there a memorial bridge in Delaware?

The Delaware Memorial Bridge stretches across the Delaware River between Delaware and New Jersey; it is a suspension bridge with a twin span. Both spans are 3,650 feet long and have four lanes each.
Bridge work began in April of 1945; it was not until August 1951 that the first span opened. There was so much traffic on the bridge that a second span opened in 1968; ironically, the first span shut down less than a week later for year-long repairs.
The bridge memorializes servicemen who died in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. Memorial services occur every Veterans Day at the Bridge War Memorial above the spans.
