What metal is most common for making truck bodies?

Steel body panels are most commonly used for pickup truck bodies as of 2015. However, some manufacturers have used aluminum body panels on some of their trucks or do so for models currently in production.
An example of a modern truck using aluminum body panels is the 2015 Ford F-150, where aluminum panels are standard. These panels are lighter than traditional steel panels and thereby help to improve fuel efficiency. Aluminum panels were not used extensively in previous trucks due to their higher expense of manufacture as compared to steel panels. Aluminum panels also have the disadvantage of higher repair costs if a body panel is damaged.
