What is a Mexican raccoon?

A Mexican raccoon might be the Cozumel raccoon, which is found on an island near Mexico's Yucatan peninsula and is sometimes called the pygmy raccoon. Another Mexican raccoon might be the Guadeloupe raccoon.
The Cozumel raccoon looks much like its northern cousin, the procyon iotor, except it's smaller. It's about 39 inches long and weighs about 8 pounds. Males are bigger and heavier than females. The Cozumel raccoon has the same type of facial mask as the procyon iotor, and the tail is also bushy and ringed.
The Guadeloupe raccoon is the southern version of the procyon iotor and lives successfully in many habitats.
