What is the Michael Bennett Series?

The Michael Bennett series by James Patterson chronicles the experiences of New York City police detective Michael Bennett. As of August 2015, the series includes eight books. Though the series is fictional, it draws inspiration from actual New York City police officers.

The Michael Bennett series puts the title character into extraordinary situations. In the first book, "Step on a Crack," Bennett must protect the lives of hundreds of people that have gathered for the funeral of the First Lady of the United States when they're trapped in a building by a man with unknown intentions. Other books have him saving the city, defeating serial killers and taking down criminal organizations.
