What is the MicroType typing program?

The MicroType Typing Program is a piece of software that has tutorials and lessons to teach students about proper keyboard skills. It includes reinforcement activities, educational games and a word processor. These activities help students to master skills needed for typing and keyboard use.

The lessons teach all the alphabetical keys, the shift and enter keys, caps lock, tab, and the space bar, as well as basic punctuation. It also includes Web Reporter, a new function that allows teachers to access students' score reports through the Internet to better understand their students' progress and to best help them develop their skills.
