What is the middle of a flower called?

The middle of a flower consists of the female reproductive organs - the stigma, a style and one or more ovules. The ovary is located at the base of the flower.

From the ovary extends the style which is a tubular structure. On top of the style is the stigma which is a surface that is receptive to pollen. The stigma in flowers can come in a variety of forms, and the majority of stigmas are designed to assist in trapping pollen. The male parts of flowers contain one or more stamens. Every stamen is made up of paired anthers on a stalk or a filament.
