Is milk acidic?
By Forinfos - 11/11/2025 - 0 comments
Milk has a pH balance of approximately 6.5, making it mildly acidic. A pH balance of 7.0 is usually considered neutral, while a pH balance higher than that is often labeled basic.
Though many people suffer from an acidic stomach, it is rarely food or beverages that cause the acidic sensation, according to Medicinal Food News. Most of the time, it is the secretion of acid from the digestion process that results in dyspepsia, heartburn and other similar conditions. Milk is one of several substances that soothes a sour stomach, in spite of its acid content. Foods that have a close pH balance to milk include oysters and corn.
