Mini dachshunds are long, active dogs that weigh between one and 11 pounds. The average size is five to six inches in height. Mini dachshunds are a type of terrier that originate in Germany.

A mini dachshund dog has a high level of energy, but it doesn’t need a lot of exercise outdoors. It is moderately affectionate and shy with most pets and strangers. It is often friendly with other dogs. Mini dachshunds are easy to train and are good at being watch dogs but don’t have a lot of protective ability due to their size. It has moderate grooming requirements with a good tolerance to hot and cold temperatures.
