The Seattle City Council passed legislation mandating that the minimum wage be incrementally increased to $15. The minimum wage for Schedule 1 employers not providing medical benefits increases to $13 by Jan. 1, 2016, and $15 by Jan. 1, 2017. The minimum wage for Schedule 1 employers that do provide medical benefits increases to $12.50 by Jan. 1, 2016, $13.50 by Jan. 1, 2017 and $15 by Jan. 1, 2018. The minimum wage for Schedule 2 employers without a minimum compensation reaches $15 by Jan. 1, 2021.
